Last month Shell has launched WRFM NGT 2.5 to its production facilities in Norway, Qatar and Iraq. After 2 years of design and development work, the application suite went live to support the daily surveillance processes within the production programming and engineering user community. The IT tool will support Shell in further optimising its production recovery and will highlight any new opportunities for improving its way of working.
Together with thehucproject, Shell has adopted an agile (SCRUM based) delivery approach to implement NGT using short iterations and feedback loops with the business teams. This model has enabled Shell to validate product delivery quickly and turn around changing requirements imminently.
As the program management provider, thehucproject set up the program organisation and controlled the overall delivery and has been the driving force behind this go-live.
